Passwords
- Use a long, unique password for cPanel, every email account and your WordPress admin.
- Don't reuse passwords between sites. A password manager makes this easy.
- If you think a password has been seen by someone else, change it straight away.
Two-factor login for cPanel
- Log in to cPanel and open Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication and scan the code with an authenticator app, such as Microsoft or Google Authenticator.
- Enter the code from the app to finish.
Keep your website up to date
Most hacked websites run old software. Keep WordPress, plugins and themes up to date (WP Toolkit can do this automatically), and delete plugins and themes you don't use.
Every account is also scanned for malware. If we find something, we'll let you know and help you clean it up.
