Change the version
- Log in to cPanel and open Select PHP Version.
- Choose the version from the list next to Current PHP version.
- Click Set as current.
The change applies straight away. Check your website afterwards. If something breaks, switch back to the previous version.
Extensions and settings
On the same page, the Extensions tab turns PHP modules on or off, and the Options tab changes settings such as memory_limit and upload_max_filesize.
Which version to use
Use the newest version your website supports. Newer versions are faster and still get security fixes. If your website is built on WordPress, keep WordPress and its plugins up to date before moving to a newer PHP version.
